Way Finding

I took and interest into way finding by colour here are a few things i found.

The signs inside the hospital have a little colour block next to the name of the place, a lot like what i wanted for the entrance of our new build.

The one all in yellow was a bit over the top for me but a good thing was that it made it clear that you are on the right floor/department.

Finally and plan on Boston Road is all blocked out making it easier to read and direct yourself around.

Aedas Research

Aedas is a global winning company which specializes in interior design, master-planning, architecture, landscape, urban design and building consultancy.

Their builds look extremely modern and futuristic, with bold straight lines and a lot of windows and glass. They also have a very unique style which is recognizable and stands out amongst other buildings.

From their plans for the future and current plans, i get the feel that they almost try to mimic the sky with there use of glass, giving the build a fresh feel.

Inspiration

I chose this one because of the use of colour, its bright and stands out, meaning people will not miss it. It is far from what i plan to do, but i feel these signs are every suitable for the space they are in.

Ruff Ideas

I feel what the inside of the building needs is a simple and graceful way of getting round the building, this is why i have chosen to make a simple pattern that will flow and guide people round the school, by mostly colour and not words, at the entrance there will be a sign with a colour guide to the build and then from there on in the simple natural pattern will, show people round the school.

I feel this is a strong idea because as it is the design block picture would suit it much more than writing. Also its a chance to experiment with, colours bringing light and energy into the build.

Another idea i had was to have the pattern extend onto the floor, but with this i feel it may cause problems when up and running because people will be looking at the floor, more than where they are going, so could cause accidents.
